Our permit was granted on 22nd April 2015 following a long review process by the Ministries of Agriculture and the Environment, and consultation with nature conservation bodies and the general public in France.
A regulatory system for non-native invertebrate biological control agents came into force in France on 1st July 2012. Any new non-native species is subject to a full risk assessment before permits for release are issued. Many other European countries now have or are introducing registration procedures for biological control agents in response to concerns about environmental impact.
